Velocity: ADO.NET Distributed Cache

Cosa ci fate con SQL Server 2008, Sync Framework ed i SQL Server Data Services? Una cache distribuita per ADO.NET. Mancava, si possono usare alternative, ma meglio così. La presentazione ufficiale di Velocity è stata fatta durante il TechEd US. Maggiori dettagli qui.

Ovviamente è tutto fatto a provider (c'è una classe ad hoc, CacheFactory). Per quanto si sa ora, il supporto per ASP.NET sarà fornito sia per quanto riguarda la Cache con con un provider specifico per Session. La scalabità di soluzioni del genere, è imparagonabile, sul progetto MTV grazie all'uso di ScaleOut, che offre un sistema simile, le performance per quanto riguarda l'accesso alla Cache, condivisa dai nodi del cluster, sono ineguagliabili. L'unica differenza è che ScaleOut non è gratis, Velocity molto probabilmente sarà già integrato :)
